Diner Diary of Joe Camerota: Tuesday, Nov. 5th, 2024
It’s 1:51 in the morning on Tuesday, Nov. 5th, 2024. I’m at Remedy Diner on Houston St. in Lower Manhattan.
There’s a couple in the booth behind me arguing about who to vote for. The guy is a Puerto Rican dude, who plans to vote for Trump. True story. His logic is that the migrants were lied to in their promise of a better life in America. And they were told that lie by the Biden-Harris administration.
The woman maintains that she’s unhappy with both Kamala and Trump. She doesn’t wanna ruin the evening. You can always tell who’s sacrificing their morals publically to be agreeable.
A guy at a bar earlier tonight told me that he thinks Kamala will win. He believes that the way people in 2016 were scared to say publicly that they’re gonna vote for Trump, but then he won based on those closeted votes. This guy at the bar said he thinks that that is what is happening with Kamala right now. Like there are folk who say they’re gonna vote for Trump, but will vote for Kamala. Like “Republican” dudes who want the option of paying for an abortion in the future.
Maybe.
But I think Trump is gonna win because it’s almost World War 3 time, and people realize that we need a President that soldiers are inspired by.
