How To End Political Corruption in the US of A

We currently live in a political system that attracts and incentives greed pigs. Our politicians seem to have insider trading capabilities with their knowledge. And immunity from consequences for their bad behavior. And of course, the greed pigs of our society would come rushing for gigs with such perks.

I have a solution though. Politicians call themselves civil servants, so I think we should require them to be voluntary civil slaves. It’d be voluntary, so the bad connotations of traditional slavery would not apply to this type of slavery. What I am proposing is that politicians, civil servants of a certain level and rank, Presidents, Senators, Congress People, Federal Judges, Cabinet members, Governors, Mayors of large cities, etc… I propose that all people of such status, be stripped of their rights of ownership, of and over anything.

I’ll explain. Upon getting elected or confirmed appointed, said high-ranking civil servant (of the caliber noted above) would be required to sign all they own over to their spouse or anyone of their choosing. All they own, all property, businesses, stocks, and investments of any nature. Again, upon election or confirmed appointment, said high-ranking civil servants would be allowed to own NOTHING.

Then we’d pay each high-ranking civil servant a great salary, $200,000 to $700,000 every year, depending on their role and length of service. And we’d pay them this every year, for the rest of their lives.

Even after just one term, they would be eligible for the minimum $200,000 a year until they die. It would of course scale up with inflation, and upon their death, it would transfer to their spouse. And upon the death of both the civil servant and their spouse, each of their children would receive a one-time tax-free inheritance of $300,000 to $1,000,000 (again, depending on their parent’s role and length of service) to springboard them after their parents’ passing. This would be in addition to anything left to them from the parent that wasn’t a civil servant, and any leftover money the civil servant parent had.

All large items that said civil servants possess such as a house or a car, would be in their spouses’ name or must be rented or leased. If both parties in a marriage are civil servants such as the Clintons, then, with their dual civil servant lifetime income, they would have to rent or lease said large items.

Smaller items purchased by civil servants during their lifetime would be considered property of the state. And would be repossessed by the state upon the death of the civil servant and spouse. Children could opt for items of sentimental value to be appraised and given to them, with the appraised value deducted from their inheritance payout noted above.

A program such as this would still be attractive to quality candidates as getting elected or appointed would still ensure a protected life monetarily. And enough loopholes would still exist to allow said civil servants to “possess” things through family members. But it would also weed out candidates who want a political position for personal gain. They would have no more incentive. They could of course still run/lobby for the position, to benefit those close to them. But the incentive to benefit others would run thin immediately for power-hungry individuals as they would just be amassing wealth and power for others.

The only candidates interested in the gigs would be folk of an altruistic nature who want a comfortable life. Aka, above-average good people.

When you take away a public servant’s rights to ownership. The only thing left that they could be in the gig for is the service aspect.
