Hello, people of the United States.
Ukraine, I-kriane, we-kriane! That’s the new cheer I wrote for the people of Ukraine!
People of the U.S.! World War 3 is still going on!
Ukraine is still in peril.
Let’s get back to caring about Ukraine!
We only cared about Ukraine for like a month!
I think I know why we don’t care about the conflict in Ukraine here in the United States of America. It’s because the Ukrainian-Russian war is nothing but some white-on-white crime.
Yeah. White-on-white crime doesn’t play well in the media here in the United States. We generally need at least one black person involved in our violence for our media to care.
I’ll prove it. The current Ukrainian-Russian conflict started on February 24th, 2022. Full-scale World War 3! Full-scale! HD footage! We were finally, as a country, given a chance to see all-out World War 3 level war in 4K cinema!
But just one month later, we as a country decided that none of that was as newsworthy as a black man slappin’ another black man at the Oscars!
Americans, collectively, said, “White people shooting white people to death in mass during a full-scale war? Boring! One black guy slapping another black guy at a fancy event? Yes, please.”
We are obsessed with any black violence in the U.S. We are legit willing to ignore World War 3 for it.
