The Dead Internet and the Democrats’ Overspend
Kamala Harris’s campaign spent more than double what Donald Trump’s spent, and still lost.
The Harris campaign literally could not buy the influence they wanted.
This is because when people spend money to buy influence over the internet nowadays, they simply buy up the dead internet.
When you try to buy influence. The companies that you pay, use AI or human bots to spam ideas out there.
Well, to combat this, the whole internet has recently mutated into a now Reddit-like environment.
We didn’t know it, but Reddit was the future all along.
Reddit is a social media platform composed of subreddits of varying niche topics. People post to these subreddits, and human moderators detect AI bots, or humans spamming (effective human bots).
Reddit is, of course, usually an echo chamber in these subreddits, but the tech community at large took note that this is the solution.
The internet, as a whole, would eventually try to pivot to validate information through trusted human moderators as these Reddit subreddit monitors do.
This comes in varied forms on other platforms.
On Facebook, this looks like Facebook groups that operate similarly to Reddit…
