I always talk about this, but I have one belief. I believe in the unreality of words. I believe God is the unreality of words. I believe that unmasking words will unmask God.
In ancient and modern courts, there was and is the role of the fool, the jester, the comedian. The individual who is labeled as slightly mad. And through the dismissive covering of this label, the fool is allowed to make fun of the king with lesser chastisement. The fool points out that the king is just a man.
Ultimately, the fool points out that the title of “king” is just a word. And behind that word is simply a man. So the fool ultimately points out the unreality of words. The fool unmasks all words and titles by unmasking the title of king.
The unmasking of authority is therefore the price of experiencing God.
