What Is Behind Money?

I have a friend named Chris Keise.

He has a saying I love which is, “As long as you’re alive, you’re playin’ with house money.”

It means that as long as you’re still breathing, you can still gamble on what we call reality, meaning everything is still yours, because all possibilities are still yours.

There is something behind money that money represents. That’s attention. We spend our money on that which we pay attention to. That is how money works.

That’s why sitting at home saves money, as you are paying attention to the world less.

If you wish to live a healthier life, you should pay attention to what you pay attention to.

I love the philosophical question of, “Is the game worth the candle?” It derives from olden times when people had to light a candle to continue playing a game after darkness set in. So folk would always ask themselves, is the game worth the candle? So I’d like you to think of yourself as a candle. Because you are, you are a walking light. You are alive, recycling energy, and shining as a light is. Your life is a walking sun. A walking candle. So make sure that anything that you are doing is worth your candle.
