The story of Christ is a story of the powers that be scapegoating and killing an innocent man to keep, gain, and/or consolidate power.

People attracted to Christianity are people who have this guilt. They are people who have scapegoated a person to keep, gain, and/or consolidate power. They probably didn’t scapegoat the person to the point of death. They probably just hurt a person professionally or socially to achieve their goals. But they did participate in the sin of scapegoating and therefore mentally need forgiveness and mercy to create a universal balance for that sin.

Also, people who participate in animal or human sacrifice are attracted to Christianity as it forbids human sacrifice and declares animal sacrifice unnecessary. It does this by stating that the sacrifice of God allowing his son to die for our sins, covers all human or animal sacrifices. Christianity asserts that submitting one’s life to Christ covers anything one would have wished to have happened from a sacrifice.

Most people don’t sacrifice humans formally anymore, but there are still countries and cultures where animal sacrifice is practiced for a favor from God. Christianity spreads in those areas, as it is a cure for this practice. But it is not a cure for the way of thinking. The way of thinking in which a sacrifice is needed to justify help from God.
